Custody disclosure

Who holds your assets, how your claim is recorded, and what protection does and does not exist.

Last updated 21 August 2026

1.The account is custodial

TANO holds and controls the keys to the wallets in which client assets sit. You hold a claim recorded in our ledger against those assets; you do not hold the private keys and cannot sign transactions directly. If you require self-custody, this platform is not suitable for you.

2.How your balance is recorded

Every balance is a double-entry ledger position denominated in the smallest unit of the asset, with no floating-point arithmetic anywhere in the accounting path. Each movement — deposit, allocation, trade, fee, withdrawal — is a balanced transaction you can trace.

3.Omnibus holdings

Client assets may be pooled in omnibus wallets or accounts at a custodian or venue rather than in a wallet dedicated to you. Your entitlement is established by our internal records, not by an address you can point to on-chain.

4.Third-party custodians and venues

Assets may be held with qualified custodians and, while a strategy is active, at trading venues. Each holder is selected under a due diligence process and is subject to its own terms, jurisdiction and controls. TANO is not able to guarantee the performance of any third party.

5.Segregation

Client assets are recorded separately from platform assets in the ledger. Where a custodian offers legal segregation of client property, it is used; where only operational segregation is available, this is a weaker protection and is disclosed as such.

6.Insurance

No insurance cover is claimed. Any cover that a custodian carries belongs to that custodian, is subject to its own limits and exclusions, and should not be assumed to compensate you directly. There is no deposit guarantee scheme, investor compensation scheme or government protection applicable to these balances.

7.Failure of a holder

If a custodian, venue or banking partner becomes insolvent, is hacked, freezes withdrawals or is subject to legal seizure, recovery of the affected assets may be delayed, partial or impossible. Losses of this kind fall on client balances to the extent the assets cannot be recovered.

8.Reconciliation

Ledger liabilities are reconciled against holdings reported by custodians and venues. Breaks are recorded and investigated. Reconciliation reduces the chance of an undetected discrepancy; it does not itself protect assets.

9.Withdrawals

Withdrawals are subject to identity checks, risk screening, address controls, approval thresholds and network confirmation times. A withdrawal can be delayed or refused where a control triggers, and the reason is recorded on your account.

10.Proof of holdings

No proof of reserves, custody attestation or audit report has been published. Until an independent artefact exists, our statements about holdings are unverified assertions and should be treated as such.

11.Sandbox note

In the current sandbox deployment no real assets are held by anyone. Addresses, custodians and confirmations shown in the interface are simulated so that the operational flow can be reviewed before real infrastructure is connected.
